Christian Life Community
CLC is an apostolic body of lay people. It is one of the oldest worldwide lay organisations, with its foundation, more than 450 years ago in the early days of St Ignatius of Loyola. It was approved by Pope Gregory X11 in 1584.
Introduced to South Africa in the mid–1970s, CLC now operates on all continents and in over 60 countries.
Through CLC, lay people find the tools for integrating their spiritual life with their family, social and political lives Members of CLC deepen their relationship with God through their spirituality (which is Ignatian in essence), community and mission, and grow in awareness of God’s presence in their lives and in the events of the world around them.
